Airport taxes in Cuba
No tax is charged to enter Cuba.
The departure tax in all airports is 25.00 CUC
 
Electricity
The Cuban norm is 110V/ 60 Hz, but many of the hotels use the 220V. The more common plugs are the flat type. We recommend getting information about your specific hotel or bringing an adapter.
 
What to wear
Clothing should be light, mainly during summer, so it would be best to wear shorts, cotton and sandals. As for winter, a light jacket or a fine wool sweater and closed comfortable shoes would do, mainly at night. Generally, restaurants will demand a dress code that includes: pants, shirts and shoes in men. Ladies can dress accordingly, dresses are recommended at night.
 
Transportation
You should take taxis or tourist buses instead, or walk when it's short distances. If you want to go on a tour of the island, your best and more economical option is with our agency’s offers
 
Credit cards accepted in Cuba
Most hotels, restaurants, bars, shops, etc., take Visa and Mastercard credit cards, as long as they are not issued by American banks. American Express traveler's checks are accepted only at the banks.
If you need cancel your credit card in Cuba, there is a company called Fincimex located downstairs of Havana Libre hotel that will make the necessary paperwork at no cost.
 
Medical care
Taking into account the accumulated experience, a national network of medical assistance to tourists was established. It has three categories: direct attention in hotels or lodgments, international clinics located in touristic places, and national or provincial hospitals, according to the requirements of each case. That way, these institutions created for foreigners and those of the national health system are used in these levels.
 
Telephone calls
For direct dialing from abroad, you must first dial Cuba’s code (53), followed by the code of the city or town and then the desired number. For direct dialing from Cuba to any country in the world, you must first dial 119, followed by the code of the country, then the code of the city, and the desired number. To make national phone calls, you must dial 0, then the code of the province and immediately the desired number. Look up the telephone codes of provinces, touristic destinations and other places in the Telephone Code section.
 
Departure Regulations
While leaving Cuba , you can take 23 cigars without presenting the official invoice. More than that will require the presentation of an official invoice which you will demand (original and copy) where you buy them, and you will present it at the custom house when required. Adults can take two 750mL bottles of Rum, wine, liquor or twelve beers free of charges. Laws for protection of the environment prohibit the exportation of any kind of handicrafts made with materials whose use may have caused harm to environment; these include black coral, turtle shell, species in danger of extinction, taxidermies, etc.
